☆About the sake brewery
Watarai Honten is a sake brewery in Tsuruoka City, Yamagata Prefecture that has been in the sake industry for 400 years.
Starting with traditional Kimoto-zukuri, the brewery has been equipped with modern equipment, cultivated its own yeast, and is working to create new value through research and development.
In addition, it has a sake brewing museum on the premises, which contributes to the passing on of Japanese sake culture as well as sake brewing.
☆Taste
The brewery uses 100% rice from Yamagata Prefecture, “Yukimegami”, a rice suitable for sake brewing that was developed to produce world-class high-quality sake. Junmai Daiginjo with rice polished to 40%.
It has a delicate and gentle taste with a fruity scent similar to cantaloupe.
It is recommended to drink it cold.

*GI "Yamagata": GI Yamagata is a geographical indication system certified by the National Tax Agency that protects sake produced in Yamagata. This indicates that the product is from the correct place of origin and meets certain quality standards.
