In 2019, Masaya Kamei, a remarkable 20-year-old pianist, garnered attention by winning the Special Prize at the PTNA Piano Competition and taking first place at the Japan Music Competition, achieving a double victory. In 2022, he made a remarkable breakthrough both domestically and internationally, securing third place at the Maria Canals International Music Competition and reaching the semifinals of the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. Now, his highly anticipated debut full album, titled "VIRTUOZO," has been released. The album features virtuosic pieces by Franz Liszt, known as the "magician of the piano," including "La Campanella" and "Mazeppa," as well as some of the most challenging piano compositions such as "Islamey" and "Scarbo". The recording for this album took place at the prestigious Suntory Hall.
